This homeowner had been living with an old wood deck for many years before contacting Woodland Deck Company. Like many pressure treated deck owners out there, she was tired of the annual maintenance it created. Not only was maintenance an issue, but the overall design did not work. Her old living space felt restrictive with bulky railings. The thick top rail and balusters also obstructed the beauty of her perennial gardens in her backyard.
Together with Woodland Deck, she designed a deck that fused her backyard and her deck space into a cohesive extension of her home. The design opened up the deck by replacing the railing on the back side with a combination of steps and benches. Our project manager helped guide her though the material selection process. It was important that the new deck be built of quality materials while still staying on budget. The homeowner decided to go with a TimberTech Terrain Deck board in the Rustic Elm color with a Trex Signature Railing on the sides. The custom bench was also made out of the TimberTech Rustic Elm composite boards.
A few of the custom details that topped off this project were the extra wide stair case along with the two posts for hanging baskets. We were excited to be a part of this wonderful transformation!
