My love for building and creating and taking on challenges began early in life. Wanting to learn more in this area, I attended the University of Akron by working as a carpenter to pay for my tuition. Shortly after graduation, I landed my “dream office job.” Months into my new job, I realized that working outdoors with my hands was what I really enjoyed doing. I remember being envious of the landscapers working outside of my window. I decided to take a courageous step: leave the office behind, and venture out into the world of beginning a small business doing something I was passionate about – building decks. So, in 2000, the Woodland Deck Company was birthed out of a humble beginning and one pick-up truck. Today we have grown to a full-service deck company with multiple crews and many satisfied customers. We have a great team of passionate workers in the office, in management, and in the field.
Aside from enjoying learning and doing all the different aspects that come from running a small business, I love free time spent doing anything outdoors; hiking, yard work, and cleaning my garage. I love to spend time with my wife and eight children. There is never a dull moment and there is always reason to laugh at all the entertainment the kids provide.
