With so many products being constantly introduced in our market, it’s hard to keep up with everything. I wanted to do a quick rundown of the new products for this spring.
At the Great Big Home and Garden Show in February, our cable rail received a ton of attention (again). This is a huge hit with people that are looking for a way to provide safety, and meet code without obstructing their view. This is the same system that we launched in 2016 and it was the fastest growing sector of all of our railing sales. For 2017, we have upgraded to less visible hardware on cable, and more detailed cable-to-post connections. Also, consider this product if you are looking for a more contemporary or modern-looking rail. With its powder-coated aluminum frame, it has a minimalistic look and feel of metal. It really is a pretty cool system.
For our wood decks, we are still offering the same KDAT (Kiln Dried After Treated) decking, but now we have added a prestaining option. We stain all sides of the decking boards BEFORE they are installed. You only get one shot at this. It is hard, if not impossible, to do this after the fact. Just think, when your treated lumber deck is finished, it will be stained and sealed all ready to go. You don’t have to worry about catching a nice weekend to stain your deck. Instead, schedule a cookout because the deck is ready to go. (See blog KDAT link for more info about KDAT lumber and its benefits).
Our major suppliers, Trex and Timber Tech, are pretty much keeping their lineup as in 2016, so there are no new products to speak of there.
